DIJO's personal choicesWelcome to the homepage of Dick de Jong. Nice that you visit. You can find information here about my hobbies (travel, Bangladesh, India, VOC), work (information sharing on water and sanitation in the developing world) and family (my great-grand dad and my daughter).

I also maintain the World Water Day (22 March) site. In November 2004 I went back to Bangladesh for a sabbatical leave, teaming up with our partner NGO Forum for Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation. On 1 June 2005 I came back after seven months. I spent three months in Bangladesh where I had difficulty with my visa. The government did not give me an extension, so I had to leave earlier than planned. Through Malaysia and Singapore I went to South Africa. There I teamed up with our partner The Mvula Trust for nearly three months. In the last month I interviewed with my friend Jabu Masondo many people in villages in North West province, Limpopo, KwaZulu Natal en Eastern Cape. I wrote 32 travel blogs and loaded up 102 pictures. I also wrote stories for my work:
Since 1972 I live in Amsterdam, in the very pleasant Rivierenbuurt, with nice newly constructed houses and squares.
