Dear friends, I am born on March 14, 1971 in the village of Gradishte in the district of Pleven (Northern Bulgaria). From an early age I've been playing the pillow (pretending it was an accordion). After a sufficient amount of time spent opening and closing the pillow's bellows, my parents' attention was caught. They decided it was time to try a real accordion. I was around 5 or 6 years old when my parents bought me an 80-bass accordion. My sister and I were very young when my parents sent us to music classes. At the time every student brought his own accordion because the music school didn't own any. The hardest part of the music classes was to bring the instrument to the school. This was the job of my grandmother. I was very enthusiastic when I started but after several visits I lost all my enthusiasm to play and stopped. After a while my father asked me if I had any intention to play the accordion or not. I told him I wasn't going to play. He sold the accordion. I was already 14 when I saw on TV an orchestra playing Bulgarian folk music. Something burned me inside. My desire to play the accordion became alive one more time. I couldn't convince my father to buy me an accordion. He believed that I had given it a chance and it didn't work. Then I asked my grandparents to buy me an accordion. At first they didn't want to but later decided to help me. They gave me money but it was not enough. I started saving my pocket money and soon I had enough money. I bought my second 96-bass accordion. I started learning how to play on my own. In a few months I played better than some of my schoolmates who took classes and in a few years I was the best in my village. I met some professional players who taught me some things. A youth band invited me to play with them. I was thrilled. We made some achievements together. We even played at the Stambolovo folklore festival where only the best bands are allowed to play. The band later desintegrated. I joined another band but not for long. Then I stopped playing for 10 years. In 2005 I became acquainted with Michiel and Bregje or Duo Izvor for Bulgarian folk music on the Internet. I invited them and they came. Since then we keep in touch through the Internet and have become good friends. Later I put some of my music on Youtube.com. Many people liked it. Some have even come to take lessons from me. Music occupies an important place in my life! I want to continue to compose and play!
