Manu Katché endorses, as most drummers do these days, many companies. However, it is quite difficult to keep up to date with his endorsements. Manu is (mistakenly) not seen as a drummer’s role model. You won’t find many advertisements featuring Manu in today's magazines. For this reason, this survey of his drumkit might be well out of date and quite incomplete. Please inform me if you know more

cymbals

Well yes, this is a awkward subject. Manu Katché once said that he never changes his drumset, but changes his cymbal setup often. Here are two sources that might give an impression of what he is using. Note that the setup provided by Zildjian is from the promo video for their A Custom series. I am not sure if Manu was using these cymbals just for the video or not.

drumkit

The above diagram also unveils Manu Katché’s drumkit. At the time it was a Yamaha Rock Tour Custom. I am not sure if that has changed since then.

heads & tuning

bassdrum
loose Remo Pinstripe batter and Yamaha (Remo) front, front tighter: lugs uneven; open.

snaredrum
tight coated Remo Ambassador on top. Remo Diplomat on the bottom, top tighter; lugs uneven; open; medium snare tension

toms
tight coated Remo Ambassador on top with medium tension, clear Remo Diplomat on the bottom; lugs uneven; open

sticks

I am not sure what kind of sticks Manu Katché is using but on his solo album it says Pro Orca sticks. Note that he is playing with the back of the stick on the snaredrum.
