The
Impossible Kite II is a strong wind design based on the Impossible
Kite I. The bridle and spars (except for the horizontal spar) are
similar to those of the Impossible Kite I. The idea for this skin
originated from a similar logo from a Dutch company (SCA De Hoop).
The kite was made in an afternoon with Indonesian (unknown)
materials, but some time was needed to determine how to add the
necessary shadow effects. In the end it was decided to add some
black Icarex behind the skin, only sewn to the skin at the corners
of the Icarex. This results in a less pronounced shadow that
increases with the amount of sunshine.
No decent photograph of the Impossible Kite II in flight is
available yet... only one picture made with a digital camera was
made just before finalization of the kite.
