---------------------------------------------------------- Aurora (Light Controller) version 1.0 ---------------------------------------------------------- Aurora is software to control the MoMolight device featured on http://lx.divxstation.com/article.asp?aId=151 The software contains two parts. - The windows software program to control the device. - New firmware for the device. If you choose not to install the new firmware some features will not be available to you. In the connection settings of the windows software you can choose your device type (aurora or momo). Features: - Support for vista (even with aero enabled). - Support for Ambilight mode in video playback, desktop and games. - Multimonitor support. - You can configure the 3 outputs of the device in any postion around your screen (not just left, top and right). - Gamma and brightness correction to calibrate the colors to closely match your screen. - Option to set outputs to any color. - Use moods (xml file) to play a playlist of colors to show on the outputs. - * Store 14 colors for each output in memory of the device to show on button push. - * Use the button to operate the device even if computer is off (short push (< 2 sec) => next color, middle push (> 2 sec) => cycle thru colors and long push (> 5 sec) => lights off). - * Fix: all light are off when color is black. * Features only available if the orignal MoMolight device has been reprogrammed with the aurora firmware: - aurora1.0_anode.hex - aurora1.0_cathode.hex These can be found in de firmware folder of the program installation folder. ---------------------------------------------------------- credits ---------------------------------------------------------- The original MoMolight device and idea came from Rafke P. aka The J.A.M. http://lx.divxstation.com/article.asp?aId=151 Aurora (Light Controller) and Aurora firmware for MoMolight is made by: M.M.J.Kronenburg http://members.home.nl/m.m.j.kronenburg/aurora ---------------------------------------------------------- Source code ---------------------------------------------------------- The source code of both the windows software and the firmware will not be released at this moment, but will be released at somepoint in the future. ---------------------------------------------------------- Known issues and bugs ---------------------------------------------------------- * 1.0 - The option to start the program on windows start, does not function correctly on windows vista. A workaround is to add a link to the program in the startup folder. ---------------------------------------------------------- changelog ---------------------------------------------------------- * 1.0 - First release version ---------------------------------------------------------- Ideas to implement in future releases ---------------------------------------------------------- - Create software help/manual. - Moods (xml file) editor. - Add windows messaging capabilities to the program, so other programs can send commands to the device thru sendmessage() and postmessage() functions. - Create a windows Media Center plugin to control lights. - Add a network interface so you can control the device from another computer. - Implement soundeffect for the lights. - Try to implement a AmbX driver so device can act like a Ambx device from philips (not sure this will work, and is legal). ---------------------------------------------------------- license & disclaimer ---------------------------------------------------------- You are permitted to install and use this software for personal entertainment purposes only.
