How I get TED/S and EPG_Uploader to upload british EPG-data to a topfield 5000pvr
I use ted/s to produce the .tgd files. You can get it from here. Dont be scared by the donation part, the part you need is ted and that is free,
though once you have got things running you might want to donate and use teds as well. Epg_uploader is also included in this download.

Read ted/s readme file

Install ted, it will simply install itself.
|
|
Get xmltv at http://sourceforge.net/projects/xmltv. Unpack it in the directory the ted/s installation made for you (..:\program files\teds)

go to the command prompt, go to the teds directory and run the command:
xmltv tv_grab_uk_rt --configure
this will allow you to specify the channels you want the epg-data for

Change the grabber.bat file to:
xmltv tv_grab_uk_rt --output Data\TVUK.xml
xmltv tv_sort --by-channel --output ..\Data\listings.xml TVUK.xml

Check the ted.ini file and insert the correct data into the ChannelInfo section (watch the ftp lines, check ted/s readme to see what you need) This is my ted.ini file:

Run ted, you should get the files: listings.xml listing.tmp and several *.start and * .tgd files in the data directory and the tgd's should also transfer to the toppy

Get the setting right in the epg_upload.ini file and place it in the ProgramFiles directory on the toppy. The epg_uploader.tap should be in ProgramFiles\Auto Start when everything works.
