Planned BIGs for 2005                                                Page updated on: 07/04/2005

This page contains an overview of the BIGs I have planned for 2005. If you check the table below and look at the maximum values of the planned BIGs versus the BIGs I did in 2003 and 2004 then you can see that the planned BIGs include BIGs that are TOUGHER (Europoints), HIGHER and LONGER. New limit's will be set in 2005 !! The maximum gradient and average gradient will not increase. Could be a goal for 2006 perhaps?

The number of BIGs I have been able to collect in two years time is 18, so 13 in one year might seem a bit too much. But in 2003 I had only 6 BIGs and in 2004 I had 12 BIGs. And why not try to exceed the amount of claimed BIGs in 2005? One must set goals. And while setting these BIGs on my wishlist another goal emerged. Aha, catching two birds with one stone. If I am able to perform all the dutch BIGs that are on the list then I will have no more BIGs left to cycle in the Netherlands! So that is an additional goal for 2005 to reach:

To have climbed all Dutch BIGs before the end of 2005.

Height profile of the Hochtor(N), also known as Großglocknerstrasse, and Edelweißspitze. The plan is to cycle the yellow height profile and take both the Edelweißspitze and Hochtor(N) and to end at the Franz-Joseph's Höhe.
