High Fashion was instigated by producer Jacques Fred Petrus, also known for producing the BB&Q Band, Change, Peter Jacques Band and ZInc. The line-up was Erick McClinton, Alyson Williams and Meli'sa Morgan. Meli'sa already sang on Kleeer albums and an album of The Shades Of Love. After the first album, Meli'sa started a succesful solo career. Marcella Allen replaced her for High Fashion's second and last album "Make Up Your Mind".

They originated from New York. Meli'sa co-wrote many of the songs, while their 1982 Capitol debut album Feelin' Lucky was co-produced by Mike Theodore, Dennis Coffey and Kashif. The album included “Feelin' Lucky Lately”, "Hold On" and You're The Winner".

In 1983 Jacques Fred Petrus and Mauro Malavasi thus produced the album “Make Up Your Mind”. Also Timmy Allen and Tawatha Agee produced some songs.
