High Fashion was instigated by producer Jacques Fred Petrus, also known for producing the BB&Q Band, Change, Peter Jacques Band and ZInc. The line-up was Erick McClinton, Alyson Williams and Meli'sa Morgan. Meli'sa already sang on Kleeer albums and an album of The Shades Of Love. After the first album, Meli'sa started a succesful solo career. Marcella Allen replaced her for High Fashion's second and last album "Make Up Your Mind". They
originated from New York. Meli'sa co-wrote many of the songs, while
their 1982 Capitol debut album Feelin' Lucky was co-produced by Mike
Theodore, Dennis Coffey and Kashif. The album included “Feelin' Lucky
Lately”, "Hold On" and You're The Winner".
This album included uptempo funk songs as "Make Up Your Mind", "Break Up", "You Satisfy My Needs" and "Pump On The Pipe". For this album musicians from the BB&Q Band joined the team. However there were plans for a third album, they disbanded later.
