Revell 1:35 JagdTiger -Henschel

Revell 1:35 sd.Kfz 186 "JagdTiger" this tank belonged to the 3 Kp./s.Pz.Jg.Abt. 653. St.Andreasberg ,Mai 1945. the JagdTiger was based on the extended chassis of the KingTiger tank, and it's main gun was a 12,8 cm (128mm) Pak 44 l/55 Gun. it could Knock out enemy tanks at 3,500 meter. the range of the massive gun, could not be matched by any of the allied tanks, and so the jagdtiger had a big advantage over all the allied tanks in sheer firepower. however the gun was fixed in a slightly sloped super structure on the chassis, and the gun had only a limmited traverse. the whole vehicle had to be aligned to aim the gun onto a target. this meant that it would be best to use the tank in an ambush role, and not an assault role. the jagdTiger was a very heavy tank, about 70 tonns. it's front armour was 250mm thick and the side and rear was 80mm thick. the engine was a Maybach HL230P30 V 12. with a maximum of 700 Hp.which was just able to drive the massive tank on. fuel consumption was enormous, just when Germany no longer was able to suplie it's army with petrol or other oil products. many of the Jagdtigers were destroyed by their own crews when fuel ran out and the tank became nothing more than a standing pillbox. a perfect target for strafing alied fighter bombers like the hawker typhoon,or thunderbolts. a number of jagdtigers were deployed,in the defense of the Reich,in the final days of the war. but with very low fuel, ammo and well trained tank crews, this big cat was not able to stop the allied march into Germany.
